Mission & Evangelism Opportunities

Katy Park is a church on mission!

We encourage every member to find a ministry that channels their passion for others. Whether it is serving in the Community Cafe, helping the local domestic abuse shelter, or going on mission trips in the U.S. or abroad, there is a place for everyone to plug in.

We are making plans for 2 missions trips in 2017. The youth will travel to Little Rock Arkansas for World Changers in June and we will travel Oklahoma City at the end of July for a whole-church family mission trip.  Come and see what all the excitement is about at the mothly missions team meeting on the third Sunday night of each month beginning at 5 p.m.

S.A.G. (Senior Adult Group) Meets Monthly
The Senior Adults of Katy Park, ages 55 and older, have  a great time of fellowship as they meet on the second  Friday of each month. The meetings, held in the  Fellowship Hall, begin at Noon with a contributory lunch, with meat and drink provided, followed by a devotional or guest speaker. The meetings are concluded by 2:00 p.m. For details or questions about the monthly meetings, please contact Joyce Lilly.

Sisters in the Spirit Bible Study Begins
The Sisters in the Spirit Bible Study, held in the Commons Room of the Read Center Apartment Complex, will begin new study on January 9. They will be studying the book of Esther.  This group meets each Tuesday morning and invites all ladies interested to attend.

Come join our newly named Men's Ministry Group, Get 'er Done . The meetings are held twice a month on the first and third Thursday at 6:30 p.m.. The first Thursday meeting includes a meal.

Our ladies' ministry meets every second and fourth Thursday

of the month at the Spratley home. Hope to see you there!

Sunday Evening Prayer and Fellowship
On Sunday evenings the church is open for those who wish to spend some time in prayer upstairs or partake in some family fellowship downstairs. Doors will open at 6 p.m. For more details, contact Melanie Curtis or Lorna Sparks.

Online Video Training Available
Rightnow is an online video based training and teaching from various leaders and pastors.  They have added thousands of more videos since the last time we used this service, including fun videos for the kids.  We hope this becomes another tool you can use to grow deeper with God.  Watch your email for a message so you can log onto the site and begin learning and growing.  The website is www.rightnowtraining.com.  Check it out today!

KATY PARK YOUTH & KP Kids NEWS

TAG -- You're It!
Parents, youth workers and youth are welcome to meet and discuss all things concerning the Your Ministry.  Our meetings are open to those desiring to seek the Lord's direction for the youth of this fellowship.  The youth program here does not exist to just give you more things to do, but to lead, train, and equip this up and coming generation in their walk with Jesus Christ.  Come and help us plan.  Check out this website and/or the church calendar for upcoming meeting dates.

CAT (Children's Activity Team)

Bruce & Brooke Spratley lead programs for Royal Ambassadors (RAs) and Girls in Action (GAs) at Katy Park.  The week meetings are held each Wednesday evening at the church from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for children Grades 1 through 5.

The Royal Ambassadors and Girls in Action groups are Bible-centered, church-based Southern Baptist Missions education for boys and girls.

The boys' organization, commonly referred to as RAs, is based on 2 Corinthians 5:20 ("We are Ambassadors for Christ"), bringing good news of salvation to people everywhere.

Girls in Action, commonly referred to as GAs, is a missions discipleship organization where the girls learn about, pray for, give to, and do missions work.

Show Your Support!

Project Parachute volunteers are praying for our men and women of the Armed Forces of the USA who are now in harm's way in Afghanistan, Korea, Iraq and other parts of the world.  We thank them and their families for their sacrifices.  If you have a friend or family member currently deployed overseas and would like to add them to our mailing list to receive gift boxes or personal notes, cards, homemade cookies and encouragement of various types every month and on holidays, please call 660-826-2070.  Join military spouses and family members for a time of sharing, prayer and other activities to show your concern for our military personnel.  This group meets the third Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m., at the Harmony Baptist Association office (1950 Hwy TT, Sedalia).

Wide is the gate that leads to destruction.
